How the Tutorials are Conducted Talisker's online tutorials are live audio and chat sessions that meet for almost two hours once a week, running from late August through early May, in which the students and tutor discuss the material being studied, go over the students' work, and preview the work for the next week. Using WebEx conferencing, the students and tutor log in to a virtual classroom at the stated time for the tutorial and then are able to communicate by talking, typing, and collaborative web browsing to syllabus pages, map sites, image collections, online museums, dissections labs, etc. Both PC and Mac users are able to participate in these courses. The tutorials are also supported by web syllabus pages for each course, which contain all the information necessary for that class. These pages list the course outline, weekly assignments (reading, writing, and labs), additional resources for the students to pursue, and online exams; the student has access at all times to the class syllabus page. In addition, the students and tutor use e-mail and forums regularly for announcements, turning in written work, and questions. |

Tuition Assistance. We do not want cost to keep families from participating in our classes and we price our courses as low as we can to make them accessible to as many families as possible. However, if the cost is too difficult for some families to bear, please contact us. We are willing to help provide tuition assistance to single mothers of limited means and to missionary families with limited means and reduced access to good home education resources. Talisker Tutorial families may begin registering March 1st, and have registration priority through March 15th, at which time registration is open to all. Please fill in and submit the online registration form, print a copy for your records, and send your check (payable to Talisker Tutorial Service) to: |

| Electronic Payment. TTS no longer accepts electronic payments. PayPal policy prohibits our passing their transaction fee on to the customer. For us to continue to accept PayPal payments, we would have to raise rates for all families, including those who do not use PayPal, to cover PayPal's transaction fees. We do not want to charge everyone for a service that is used by well under a quarter of our families, so we have chosen to no longer accept PayPal transactions. We regret any inconvenience caused by this decision. |
