Talisker's 2007 - 2008 Calendar

1 1st Semester Deposit Due: At Registration Starting March 7
2 Balance of fees for Fall 2007 due (or payment plan started) August 1
3 Test sessions for computers and software (if applicable). Time: 2 - 4 pm (Pacific Time) or by appointment August 15 - 16
4 Registration deadline for Writing Assessment Service September 1
5 First Class Day of Fall Semester August 27
6 Labor Day - classes will meet as usual September 3
7 Autumn Break: No classes Oct. 15 - 19
8 Thanksgiving Holiday: No classes November 21 - 23
9 Second Semester Deposit Due December 1
10 Christmas and New Year's Holiday: No classes Dec. 21 - Jan. 11
11 2nd Semester balance due (or payment plan continued) February 1
12 Mid-Winter Break: No classes Feb. 18 - 22
13 Registration Open to Current Talisker Families February 25
14 Registration Open to All March 10
15 Easter / Spring Break: No classes March 24 - 28
15 Last Week of Second Semester May 12 - 14

Getting Ready for Classes

  • Make sure you have all your books. See the Bookstore for titles and ordering information.
  • Make sure you have all your lab equipment. See the Lab Equipment Page.
  • See the Class Lists page and make sure you are in the right tutorial.
  • Review the weekly schedule chart, especially if you have more than one tutorial.
  • Read and familiarize yourself with the How to Study page for each tutorial.
  • Begin studying as soon as your syllabus page is ready. See below.
  • Getting your computer ready for TTS tutorials Follow the detailed instructions on How to log onto the ETS conference server.

Staying Informed

  • Explore and familiarize yourself with the Talisker website. See the Tutorials Page, which has information about course descriptions, times and days, and fee information, as well as other items. The Resource Page has links to other information on the web related to classical education which may be valuable to homeschoolers.
  • Regularly check the Talisker News Page; anything new will be posted there, as well as sent to you by e-mail.
  • Regularly check this page (The Atrium) to remind yourself of upcoming dates on the calendar (above).
  • Check the FAQ page, as frequently asked questions often have answers there as well as here and elsewhere on the Talisker website.
