C. Crete. The capital, Cnossus (Knossos) is on the north side. This was the center of the Minoan civilization, 2000-1400 BC.
D. Asia Minor. Present-day Turkey. Most of the territory along the Aegean sea was called Ionia, and this is the region where Homer lived.
