| Current Assignment *Class Forum* Class Roster On-Your-Own Problems: guidelines Study Guide Questions Lab Experiments Evaluation Relevant Links TextBooks: the Talisker Tutorial's Bookstore has a required Book list On-Your-Own Problems To be done for each week's assignment: Before each week's class session, post your answers to the On-Your-Own problems on the class forum. You should send them to me no later than the evening of the day prior to class. The On-Your-Own problems should be answered in complete sentences. If you miss a class session, you should still post your answers. Make sure your name is on your answers. If you are the first to post, put "On-Your-Own, Module 1 (2, 3, etc.), Assignment 1 (2, 3, etc.)" in the subject line. If you are not the first, then hit "respond" to that post and enter YOUR answers. Detailed answers and explanations are provided for you at the end of the module, so that you may check your own work. DO NOT look at the answer to a question until AFTER you have tried to answer it! DO NOT copy the answers from the Book or fellow students and post them ... you will not receive credit for your work. Keep copies of all your answers in your notebook and always bring your notebook to class.. Study Guide Questions To be done at the completion of each Module. Complete the Study Guide Questions in their entirety and post your answers to me no later than the evening prior to the class session in which we will be finishing said module. Make sure your name is on your answers. If you are the first to post, put "Study Guide, Module 1 (2, 3, etc.), Assignment 1 (2, 3, etc.)" in the subject line. If you are not the first, then hit "respond" to that post and enter YOUR answers. I will be going over the solutions in class, at which time you may make corrections and adjustments. Keep copies of all your Study Guide Question answers in your notebook. Exams Exams will be administered in the home at the end of every Module (I recommend that they be administered by a parent/adult). These exams are designed to be taken online and sent directly to me by clicking on the submit button at the bottom of each exam. Please answer in full sentences. I will not be able to give partial credit for work done if your answers are not clear and concise (It also helps me to see where you are having problems). Keep a copy of your answers in case of technical difficulties. Exams must be turned in by the due date for grading. The only excuses for late work will be by prior arrangement. If you miss the exam due date without an approved excuse, an additional fee will be charged to grade your exam. Exams will be graded and returned by email. Print off a copy of each exam and file them in your notebooks in the order taken. Lab Experiments Keep a lab notebook in which you record notes, drawings, and samples of observations made in the field and/or your home lab. This notebook will randomly be checked through out the course. I prefer the little notebooks titled "composition notebook." You can get them virtually anywhere school supplies are sold. You are to record your experiments as discussed in the "student notes" section of the course. I will evaluate the way you have recorded your experiments and then make suggestions on what you need to do to improve. When you turn in your notebook, I will evaluate the remaining labs, and that will be worth 35% of your total course evaluation, should you desire grade/credit. Evaluation I will not spend time grading or commenting on the posted assignments, but a record will be kept of how many answer sets you turn in and this will be part of your evaluation. These assignments will be discussed in class. Your Lab notebook will be evaluated for organization and completion of all assigned experiments. All tests will be scored according to the percentage correct. Grades and credit can be arranged if requested through Cascade Independent High School. Relevant Links Assignments 1.
